I absolutely loved everyone’s project. We were talking about the fact that there is so much information beneath the surface of the project. Our little scrapbooks and artifacts represent a fraction of the information that was learned.
I was personally touched by the presentations that were given. I am amazed at the touching stories that were shared. I really struggled with my topic. What I really wanted to do eluded me. I knew that I really wanted to do something with our adoption, but I was unsure about how to go about that. We have to make a scrapbook to share with the birthmothers. I tried and tried to figure out how I could go about writing my adoption scrapbook and multi-genre project at the same time. I decided since I needed resources that maybe I should just pick something that was fun and could be used in my classroom since there are no books written about me that I could use as a reference. Now that I am finished with Elvis, I am going to start on a multi-genre scrapbook about my husband and I to share with our birthmother about who we are. After watching the multi-genre projects that were presented this evening I have a better grasp of how that I could do my adoption scrapbook. Thank you ladies, you have given me inspiration!
Hey just a quickie question… does anyone know of any great fundraising ideas that my husband and I can do to raise money for our adoption? Someone told us that we needed to do a raffle or have a dinner. Any ideas would be appreciated. We need to pay over $10,000 for the adoption. Every penny is well worth it, but we don’t have an extra $10,000 laying around. I hate to ask, but I am already working two jobs and we are saving every penny. Thanks!
Elvis was awesome!! I think the dinner is a good idea. I don’t know if you have a church you attend, but I’m sure they’d be more than willing to support you with a dinner. Maybe a barbeque? I know how expensive adoption is since my sister is adopted…especially overseas adoptions! If it makes you feel any better at all, you get the money back in tax deductions through the years. I wish you the best of luck with your little one!! I’ll ask my mom if she has any ideas and will let you know…
